About Kathy…

Kathy Hogan is a professional qualified hairdresser, makeup artist and stylist with over 30 years of experience in television, advertising, editorial, fashion, wedding and event industries. Kathy has extensive experience personally looking after high profile celebrities across television networks, at Channel Seven, Channel Nine, Network Ten and Southern Star Endemol.

With this experience along with owning many highly prestigious and award winning hair salons Kathy’s career has sustained an international based client list, being flown to work in the USA, UK and ASIA.

Kathy has been the team leader at Channel Seven Queensland’s Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe Department for numerous years which is a high pressured, fast paced role that included liasing with Directors, Producers, Production departments and managing teams of highly sought after artists across different stations and locations. She personally worked closely with Sharyn Ghidella, Kendall Gilding, Katrina Blowers, Kay McGrath and Shane Webcke to name a few to create beautifully striking and professional looks for numerous productions, shows and events like national and local News, Sunrise & Lotto.

Over the 30 years of experience with Channel Nine, Kathy is a key freelance makeup artist working in News, Today Show, 60 Minutes, The Footy Show, Kids WB, The Logies, TVC’s and Australian Fashion Awards working with talent Allison Langdon, Jessica Mauboy, Sophie Monk, Robyn Bailey, Steve Irwin and for many years was the personal in-house hairdresser at Nine for talent, Leila McKinnon, Melissa Downes, Heather Foord, Jillian Whiting and Wally Lewis.

Kathy was the key makeup artist on Big Brother for all of the housemates from 2001-2018 inclusive. This included travelling all over Australia as part of the selection team for the final chosen contestants each year. Kathy would cut, colour, style and create looks for contestants in their pre and post show publicity shoots on television and billboards and in national magazines such NewIdea and Women’s Weekly. This role included last minute sourcing and purchasing for wardrobe.

Before Kathy began operations of her high profile hairdressing salons in Australia she trained and educated with world renowned group Toni & Guy as a Style Director and educator in the UK, Sydney and Brisbane salons. She the went on and founded, developed and trained growing teams and managed her salons over the next 20 years. These salons won many accolades and awards taking out top award for Best New Business in Australia and runner up in Best New Business and Best Salon Design at the Australian Hair Industry Awards (AHIA) 2012 , 2013. The salons attracted high profile clients and which included Natalie Grewsleski, Karl Stefanovic and Hollywood A’listers Margot Robbie and Ethan Hawke.

Her passion for hair and makeup and providing training drives Kathy to keep creating at the highest levels and impart this knowledge through her ongoing client relationships.
